During a weekend visit to New Orleans, Louisiana, my husband and I were astonished by what we encountered upon disembarking the Canal streetcar line at City Park. Embedded in the 1300 acres of the park is the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Sydney & Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Admission to the park is free and open seven days a week! More than 90 public art works interact with each other outdoors among the live oaks who stand guard, patiently absorbing infinite conversations. These photos are just a few favorites from that afternoon last April.
